Fadhil Abubaker

I’m a Computer Science MMath student at the University of Waterloo, advised by Prof. Khuzaima Daudjee. I am also a member of the Data Systems Group.

My primary research interests are in database system internals. I am particularly interested in adapting existing database architectures to modern hardware.

Previously, I used to be a Software Engineer at QCRI, where I worked on scaling the infrastructure of Rayyan, a popular online research platform. Rayyan was eventually commercialized as an independent startup and is now a VC-backed company with 250,000+ users.

I graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar in 2018 with a BSc in Computer Science, where I worked with Prof. Ihab Younis on building tools and pipelines for RNA-Seq analysis.
